This checklist covers every document required for a successful Umrah visa application from India. Go through each item before submitting your application. Missing even one document causes delays.
Core Documents (All Applicants)
Passport
- Valid Indian passport
- Minimum 6 months validity from your departure date (not the application date)
- At least 2 completely blank pages for immigration stamps
- Passport is undamaged — no torn pages, water damage, or unofficial markings
- Name on passport matches your airline ticket exactly
Photograph
- White background only — no colour, no grey, no off-white
- Size: 35mm wide × 45mm tall
- Taken within the last 6 months
- Full frontal face — no tilting
- No glasses
- No head covering except for hijab (face fully visible from forehead to chin)
- No shadows on face or background
- High resolution digital copy (JPG or PNG, minimum 100KB)
Airline Ticket
- Confirmed return ticket — not a booking hold or pending reservation
- Full name exactly as on passport
- Outbound flight from India to Saudi Arabia
- Return flight from Saudi Arabia to India
- Travel dates fall within your visa validity window
Hotel Booking
- Confirmed hotel booking in Makkah (not just Madinah)
- Your name and passport number shown on the booking
- Dates cover your planned stay in Makkah
- Booking is from a recognised hotel or accommodation provider
Meningococcal ACWY Vaccination Certificate
- Quadrivalent vaccine (ACWY) — not just MenC
- Certificate shows your name (as on passport)
- Date of vaccination shown clearly
- Vaccine brand and batch number included
- Clinic/hospital stamp and healthcare provider signature present
- Vaccination date is within the last 3 years
Additional Documents for Women

Proof of mahram relationship:
- Wives: Marriage certificate (Nikah Nama)
- Daughters: Birth certificate showing shared parentage
- Sisters: Birth certificates showing shared parents
- Other relationships: Relevant family documents

Copy of mahram's passport (information page)

Women over 45 travelling without mahram:
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from mahram — signed and notarised
- Confirmation of licensed organised group booking
Additional Documents for Children
- Birth certificate showing child's full name and parents' names
- Copy of accompanying parent/guardian's passport
- If only one parent is travelling: consider having NOC from the non-travelling parent ready
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Uploading a blurry photo — it will be rejected as "unreadable"
- Using a vaccination certificate without the batch number
- Submitting a hotel booking that shows only a Madinah hotel (Makkah booking is required)
- Name on ticket differs from passport — even a missing middle name can cause issues
- Expired vaccination certificate — check the 3-year validity from vaccination date
- Photocopy of passport rather than a clear scan or photograph of the actual passport
Before You Click Submit
Run through this final check:
- All file names are clear (rename "IMG_1234.jpg" to "passport-scan.jpg")
- All uploads are under the maximum file size shown on the form
- Your email address is correct — the e-visa will be sent there
- Your travel dates match your airline ticket and hotel booking
